TOUR OUR
HISTORIC RENO

Welcome to our recent flip project. This little house was built in the 1940s and is a stone's throw away from the home that we live in. Breathing life back into it was an absolute BLAST!

A little look at where we started with this renovation…

Start ANYWHERE

John, Ab, and I had the best time with this renovation. All three of us have such a passion for restoring old homes. When this opportunity came up, we jumped on the chance to go nuts with color in this 80 year old house. We stripped it down to the studs and gave this little place a complete overhaul and have since sold it to the sweetest new owners!

For this front room, I wanted something simple and elegant… a space that felt warm and inviting right when you walk in the front door. Like a big warm hug! I chose the color Beetle Black by Farrow and Ball which is also carried into the front bedroom as well. From there I did tone on tone curtains with a few pops of ivory and pink.

Truly one of my very very very favorite projects and room designs to date. It came together even more beautifully than I hoped and I am so proud of all of the hard work we put into this kitchen. It actually all started with the hallway mural and then my vision grew from there. It was all then given that extra WOW with the most stunning Bertazzoni appliances from Dave’s Appliance Warehouse

From the kitchen cabinets to this bathroom and then smaller touches throughout, this soft shade of green ties together this cottage just beautifully. From there I wanted to give a little nod back to the history of the home with some “old school” black and white tile done in a more modern way. I then chose a modern sink, mirror and gold sconces from Lights.com to offset the more vintage inspired touches. And then came time for the most perfect finishing touch… the shower curtain! Such a fun and very AW touch.

Pretty much every design project starts with a “little” (or big) source of INSPIRATION! For this space, it all started with this GORGEOUS RUG from Revival! From there, I knew I wanted something dark and moody so I chose Beetle Black by Farrow and Ball for the walls and Stardew by Sherwin Williams for the ceiling. The rest of the room came together with a few HomeGoods and Amazon finds along with all things Addison’s Wonderland Boutique!

I am often asked where I begin when designing a space and I think my answer probably varies with every single project I have done over the years. For this space, the room inspiration all began with this mural that I ADORE. I love it so much I am using it now for the second time! From there, I wanted the perfect touch of texture and warmth to offset the whimsical mural and blush velvet curtains, so I chose the Candra Oak bed by Article and it is soooooooo beautiful! It’s the perfect warm tone and textural rattan detailing for the WOW and balance this design needed.

For the mural, I chose THE MOST STUNNING LANDSCAPE MURAL by Belarte Studio. I had narrowed it down to several but this ended up being the winner for Ab and I based on the fact that it ends in the family room which is a rich green with a taupe/white striped rug and it seemed like the perfect complimentary pattern.

This room design started with an Instagram vote for the wall color… From there, I knew I wanted the space to feel incredibly warm and inviting so I chose this super cozy and crazy beautiful Ensel Sectional in Jubilee Pearl by Jonathan Louis. And finally, the DETAILS… that last 15% I always chat about. I got a couple of things from Target but most everything else came from Addison’s Wonderland!

This entire room was inspired by my literal years-long dream of designing a space around a gorgeous Stray Dog Designs chandelier. Their fixtures are the epitome of that signature Addison’s Wonderland look… color and whimsy to the extreme! All of their fixtures are SO FUN, the color selections are all AMAZING and it quite honestly took me FOREVER to pick just one!
