This room came together a bit slowly all starting with my random vision of a gray on gray look for the walls and trim layered with lots of warmth in textiles.
A little look at where we started with this renovation…
During the pandemic, we pivoted to renovating cabins to produce fun content. Big Canoe, where our cabin is located, has always felt like home so it seemed like the perfect place to buy property! It is also available to rent on Airbnb if you need an escape!
My goal with this space was to create another living room. We moved the appliances into the pantry area and utilized a fun cabinet for storage to make it feel a little bit cozier!
Alllllll of the cottage vibes for this breakfast room! We had such limited space for this little nook so I wanted to really cozy it up. Yet another space that was perfectly finished with Vant panels!
This room design is not only my first time designing with the color red in the last 15+ years but it is also quite possibly the coziest room I have ever created. My design began with inspiration from Ashton Kutcher & Mila Kunis’ new home and their massive emerald green velvet sectional. The entire space just screamed lush coziness and I began craving the same vibe in our cabin.

This little nook design began with trying to figure out the best way to find headboards to fit the slanted attic ceiling. I wanted something “cutesy” but finding something that would be low enough was a struggle bus. Cue Vant Panels!! The perfect accent for this cozy space!
This is definitely one of those designs that came together over time. Sometimes I can plan out an entire room design from day one and then sometimes the design comes together as I find things or in this case, install things such as this wallpaper. Yep, this room design began with finding this gorgeous wallpaper. I was craving something really traditional for this home that I could layer with a little AW whimsy and fun of course and this print just felt so right.
One thing I’ve believed since very early on in my design career is that the ceiling is the most forgotten plane of design. It’s like the fifth wall that can sometimes make the most impact! I've painted stripes on ceilings, installed reclaimed wood, wallpapered and everything in between. For this room, I thought it would be fun to use this wild geometric pattern on the ceiling!
